Octoid & Quadoid radiation

Octoid and Quadoid radiation are loudspeaker technologies designed to precisely control where sound is allowed to exist in three dimensions. Rather than radiating sound broadly in a spherical radiation and managing the consequences later, these technologies prevent unwanted sound from being generated in the first place. Sound is confined to defined volumetric regions, while surrounding space remains acoustically unaffected. This enables a level of spatial containment and control that conventional loudspeaker designs cannot achieve.

Why conventional radiation fails

The limitation of traditional radiation patterns.

Conventional loudspeakers are typically described as omnidirectional, directional, or cardioid. In practice, these patterns provide limited and frequency-dependent control.

High frequencies may be directional, while low frequencies radiate almost omnidirectionally. Directionality remains inconsistent across the spectrum.

As a result, sound remains uncontained, spreading into walls, ceilings, and unwanted areas.

Acoustic problems are created at the source, not by the room.

New technology

Coming
soon.

Quadoid radiation confines sound to one quarter of a sphere. Octoid to one eighth — one quarter of the acoustic energy a cardioid pattern puts into a room, across the full audible band, from a compact cabinet. Full technical detail will be published at launch.
