EDC Acoustics designs general-purpose loudspeaker platforms that deliver precision sound in any venue. From speech to music to immersive experiences, our hardware is built to produce consistent results regardless of audience shape, seating position, or architectural complexity. Each hardware family is engineered around a specific dimension of control — coverage control, perceptual control, or radiation containment — so the right outcome can be achieved in any space.

Software-defined beamforming loudspeakers

These loudspeakers are designed to precisely control where sound goes in three dimensions. Unlike conventional point-source speakers that radiate broadly, and unlike conventional line arrays that only optimize along a single axis, software-defined beamforming actively shapes coverage to match the full geometry of the audience.

The outcome is consistent sound pressure level, consistent frequency response, and consistent spatial performance across the entire audience area. By keeping sound energy away from reflective surfaces and unused space, these systems reduce reverberation, echoes, and environmental noise spill at the source.

Volumetric Wavefield Synthesis systems

These systems are designed to deliver the most consistent immersive experience possible throughout a space. Conventional stereo and surround systems are boundary-limited — sound originates from the perimeter of the listening area — which creates a sweet spot and inconsistent localization for everyone else.

Volumetric Wavefield Synthesis hardware supports sound originating within the listening space, enabling the sound image to remain stable and correct regardless of where a listener is positioned. This approach is used when immersive realism matters: consistent directionality, consistent localization, and a shared experience for every seat.

Octoid & Quadoid loudspeakers

These loudspeakers are designed to contain sound to a small area and tightly control the acoustic energy. They provide broadband, three-dimensional containment in a compact form — achieving spatial control that conventional omni, directional, or cardioid patterns cannot match across the full frequency range.

Quadoid radiation confines sound to one quarter of a sphere. Octoid radiation confines sound to one eighth of a sphere. These products are ideal for localized, non-obtrusive listening — including museums, interactive exhibits, self-guided tours, and personal listening — and are equally valuable anywhere containment and clarity are required.
